4 Really Annoying Things About Working in an Office

A large number of people all over the world work in secretarial positions or, in an office environment and, until recently most of them had to go into the office everyday which, for the most part is enjoyable, especially with a good old bit of office banter. There are however some really annoying things that, if you are working from home, at least you have a break from them, for the time being;

  1. Sickness

Everyone gets sick from time to time but that doesn’t mean that they have to come into the office to show everyone how sick they are and potentially, pass whatever it is that they have on to others. It can seem like very little thought has gone into other people’s health if a person continues to come into work coughing and spluttering all over the place.

  1. Keyboard bashers

This is undoubtably one of the most annoying and it often leads to resentment and ill feeling. Surely a person must know that they are typing really loudly or, ‘bashing’ the keys. For anybody in the vicinity, it could be easy to assume that the person knows what they are doing and are just being a pain in the back side because they are not happy with something. On the other hand, they might be partially deaf so ask them if they are ok before you kick off.

  1. Printer wars

If you have shared printers then this one can be quite comical to observe, more often than not people are queuing to use a printer and could be in a rush. Only to find that the last person to have used it has left the printer, ‘out of order’ in some way. Either they’ve used all the paper or haven’t replaced the toner that has run out, some real battles can go on when it comes to printers, they can bring out the worst in people.

  1. Smelly people

This could sound really harsh but, actually this doesn’t have to mean that somebody smells bad, sure there are those that have pretty bodily odors which can be enough to put you off of your sandwich but, equally so are those that smother themselves in perfume like it going out of business and that nobody has ever smelt before. Often, it’s an attempt of gaining attention, the old ‘look at me’, oh no ‘don’t look at me, I’m shy’. What a donut.

Enjoy your time at home

If you are working from home then at least you don’t have to deal with these things, for now, enjoy your time away from the niggles.
